Italian Review

320 Italian companies to exhibit at ITMA 2011

The Italian contingent of exhibitors has confirmed its significant presence at the upcoming ITMA Barcelona. Italian technology will once again play a prominent role at the world’s preeminent textile event, emphasizing its part in promoting eco-sustainability for the production chain in the textile industry. Expectations are riding high for ITMA 2011, the global trade fair for the textile machinery sector, which will open its doors on 22 September in Barcelona. As for previous editions of the fair, Italy will once again be making a strong showing. In July, 320 Italian exhibitors had already registered; they will to occupy an overall surface area of over 20,000 square metres (equal to roughly 25% of the total, both in terms of exhibitors and surface area).

Marzoli: The cotton fibres

2011 is an important date for Marzoli  as it celebrates 160 years of leadership in textile field. High performances and low consumption are the key areas of the Marzoli vision.

Marzoli Card C701 on display at ITMAin Barcelona, guarantees high performances and quality for cotton, man-made fibres and the latest and more complex technical fibres.

The processing of cotton fibre needs technologically advanced equipment to reduce production waste and to enhance the unique features of cotton at the same time. According to the Cotton Stock Exchange of Bremen, the cotton prices increased by 150% during 2010.

In June 2010 one cotton pound cost about 100 US cents. At the end of January 2011 the Bremen Price Index was at 205.15 US cents. In one year, the prices in New York arose from 69.53 cents to 169.39 cents. The rise of the cotton price is not only caused just by speculation, but it is also linked to the demand and supply ratio. After the recession, the spinning production is now well on its recovery and yarn demand is returning to the levels before the crisis. However, the markets have to catch  up with the Chinese stocks reduction, the floods in Pakistan (the production  decrease of 15%), excess of the monsoon rains in India and the political instability in Middle Africa.

Marzoli Blowroom: High productivity with low operational cost.

It's clear that the spinning mills equipped with modern opening and mixing machinery will face problems due inferior quality cotton variety, caused by the use of not-selected cottons.  The new opening line of Marzoli has fine openers with two beaters in series with different levels to increase the opening and carding efficiency, and a double feeding room that increases the mix process and ensures: standardization, simplicity in handling, better mixture process, excellent cleaning efficiency with the waste percentage lower 1% of the traditional lines.

Marzoli looks forward to greet its customers at ITMA Barcelona 2011 at stand located at H2-C216 .
