Dubbed as China’s first UFI approved hosiery, knitting and braiding machinery exhibition, the 11th China (Yiwu) International Exhibition on Hosiery, Knitting, Dyeing & Finishing Machinery (Yiwu H&G 2010) will be held between 24 – 26 November 2010 at Yiwu International Expo Centre. Since its debut in 2000, YIWU H&G has been flourishing alongside the local textile industry with improved quality, making it one of the top ten exhibitions in Zhejiang Province in 2007.

A predominant knitting production base with high international profile

Home to a pool of 1,500 hosiery and 350 underwear factories, Yiwu, with predominance in knitting industry, is a major distribution hub of knitted products in China. Industry-wise, Yiwu's seamless underwear industry, with annual production of more than 80 million units and output value exceeding RMB 3 billion, accounts for 80% of the national output and 15% of global production respectively.

Yiwu H&G 2010 is expected to focus on knitting machinery and accessories.

Despite a decline of 17.5% on export value of knitted underwear in January 2009, Yiwu’s underwear industry managed to regain a prominent growth, resulting in a 17.7% growth by year-end. Yiwu, with an annual hosiery production of 5 billion pairs and output value of RMB6 billion, plays a decisive role in China’s hosiery market, sharing 40% of the domestic market.

To enhance and promote the city’s status as "China’s Socking City", "China’s Seamless Underwear Manufacturing Base", " Zipper Brand Base in Zhejiang" and "China’s Ribbon City", YIWU H&G, well recognized by both domestic and international industry players, has strived to provide the most advanced equipment and technology support from all over the world.

According to official statistics, there were 13,000 foreign businessmen living in Yiwu for more than 6 months in 2009, while 318,000 foreign buyers traveled to source in the city, 20% up of previous year. Home to 2,652 overseas representative offices of corporations from 89 countries (accounting for half of the total offices in Zhejiang province), Yiwu enjoys a high percentage of foreign business and foreigner in Zhejiang province. This backdrop has not only enhanced YIWU H&G’s international status, but also made it a must-go event for industry players in knitting industry around the globe.

One-stop thematic zones for easy sourcing

Yiwu H&G 2009 occupied an exhibiting area of 7,600 sqm, with 130 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions, including Turkey, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Switzerland, Thailand, Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan Province, showcasing the latest technologies of 226 machine exhibits. The exhibition, as a trading and networking platform, enable exhibitors to interact and exchange views on industry and technology trends with over 5,000 participants from all over the world.

Yiwu H&G 2010 will maintain its focus on knitting machinery and accessories. To facilitate sourcing and networking, six theme zones, namely seamless underwear machinery zone; knitting, hosiery and glove knitting machinery zone; braiding, zipper making machinery zone; dyeing and finishing machinery zone; logo printing machinery zone; sewing machines, yarns, fibers and spare parts zone will be set up. The one-stop service aims at providing direct contact between buyers and their sourcing targets.
