An informal gathering was organized by Shivam Texmech Pvt. Ltd. - Agent for SSM Central & Western India on Wednesday 17th Feb. 2010 at Beautiful Seminar hall of college which was once the Court Room for a local king. The event was a celeberation and handover of the SSM winding machine Model TW2-W to DKTE Society's Textile & Engineering Institute, Ichalkaranji. Mr. K. B. Awade, Chairman of DKTE society - Ex. Member of Parliament - presided over the function.

The DKTE's Textile & Engineering Institute, Ichalkaranji (The place is also known as Manchester of Maharashtra state in India) is considered to be the Best Textile Institute in India having 10 different workshops / laboratories to train the students in the various fields of Textile technologies, Man-made textile technology, Textile plant engineering, Textile chemistry, Fashion technology etc.

Apart from this the institute has other branches training students in Electronics, Mechanical, Computer science, Information technology etc. The institute has been functioning since 1982, has ISO 9001:2000 Certification and imparts training to students from 1st year diploma course to the students doing their doctorate in Textiles.

The institute's workshop is equipped with the machines gifted by best of the names in the field of Textile and hence it was only natural that the winding machine manufactured by SSM- the undisputed world leader in their field of activity - has to be present in their workshop.

After the formal handing over ceremony where Mr. Horst Luechinger as the chief guest of the seminar spoke about the SSM Group, the philosophy of innovations at SSM and continuous up gradation of technology level which makes it the best in the world.

The seminar was followed by very lively question answer session and informal discussion over a pleasant evening tea. Dr. C. D. Kane, Executive Director of Institute, is the leader of the team, which organized this excellent show.

The presence of more than 25 senior Mill technicians in and around Kolhapur including Managing Directors, presidents, factory managers and technical managers as well as 150 final year students in itself shows the interest in SSM Machines.

An announcement at the end of function that the seminar will be held by SSM at Kolhapur in April, 2010 received big round of applause clearly indicating the success of this ceremony.
