India 2010: Reverse buyer seller meet
Source India 2010 was held during January 28-29, 2010 at the
Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai, India, The finest world-class
man-made textile products exported by Indian exporters to 173
countries globally, including to some of the most demanding and
sophisticated markets in Europe, USA, Far-East Asia, Middle-East
Asia and Africa was showcased during the event.

Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) under the aegis of the
Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, is a first of its
kind event aimed at facilitating sourcing by serious and
well-established international buyers of synthetic textile
products like yarns, apparel fabrics, fashion fabrics,
trimmings, fashion accessories, furnishing fabrics, home
textiles & made-ups and a wide range of technical textiles. The
focus will be directed towards the range of products made from
polyester, viscose, nylon acrylic and blends.
A range of value-added and high performance products offered
by 100 exhibiting manufacturers and exporters. There were three
fashion shows by Marc Robinson, featuring leading Indian fashion
designers, and each one of these fashion shows was individually
conceptualized to depict the depth and breadth of application
possibilities with the Indian man-made fabrics and fashion
accessories for day wear, evening wear and casual wear.
In the spirit of true globalization and integrated approach
towards export promotion, SRTEPC has decided to open this B2B
event to the sourcing offices of global brands located in India,
Indian apparel exporters who need yarns and fabrics for their
apparel export production and large Indian brands and retailers,
who are looking at global sourcing, so that they have access to
the world-class materials for their onward production.
Over the last five years the Indian man-made textile industry
has made significant advances in terms of product range, quality
managment, processing and fashion and value addition. The
exports grew by 69% over the last five years to USD 3.336
billion in 2008-2009. The key export markets include Europe,
North America, Latin America, Asia, Africa and Australia. India
is now the fourth largest producer of synthetic fibre and has
recently made large expansion in POY and PSF capacities.
