for suppliers of all kinds fabrics. According to the World

is the second largest one after Japan, spending over US $8.6
billion on luxury brand name products in 2008. This massive
consumer spending is predominantly male-driven, with
international apparel brands dominating the menswear sector,
resulting in a market rich with opportunity for high-end fabric
suppliers, especially cottons and wools. China’s luxury good
consumer also mainly belong to the 20 – 40 age group, meaning
that luxury spending will no doubt continue to rise. In fact,
experts predict that China will overtake the Japan luxury market
within the next five years.
Not only is international luxury brand consumption on the
rise in China, but also more and more domestic luxury brands are
trying to move up the value ladder by adopting imported
textiles, design and technology.
