The textile and garment sector in Colombia is very worried over the fact that the neighbouring country of Venezuela, one of its biggest buyers, sector may ban imports of goods from Colombia. Earlier, the Venezuelan government had stopped providing dollars to Venezuelan importers of textile goods from Colombia at the official exchange rate, due to which they have to buy them from the open market at a high rate.

This is the second time in that Venezuela has banned imports of goods from Colombia. Venezuela is the one of the biggest importer of textiles and apparel from Colombia.
