Printing & Dyeing Co., Ltd, etc. They all stressed that
ShanghaiTex is a prime textile event and a premier trading
and informative platform. |
Igus (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
Igus started business in 1964 with headquarters located in
Cologne, Germany. After tens of years’ development, igus have
set up subsidiaries the world over. Igus (Shanghai), WOFE of
igus Germany, is in charge of all igus relevant business in
mainland China.
Since its foundation 40 years ago, Igus has been engaged in
research and development of polymer products; and nowadays Igus
is recognized as the leader among all EnergyChian, flexible
cable and polymer bearings manufacturer worldwide. With
high-level R&D team, excellent sales and after-sales team and a
variety of more than 70 thousand products, igus provides the
best solution to enhance competitiveness; meanwhile, engineers
from igus offered the most optimized solutions upon request,
which would meet your specific requirements.
"xiros" against friction and wear
Maintenance-free polymer ball bearings in new materials
and dimensions: The Cologne-based igus GmbH specializing
in plain bearings that are made of tribological optimized
polymers launched their own plastic ball bearings onto the
market for the first time. The positive feedback from customers’
resulted "xiros" maintenance-free polymer ball bearings becoming
an independent product line.
The name "xiros" is derived from the Ancient Greek "xsiros"
which means "dry" ball bearings for lubricant-free dry running.
The inner and outer rings are manufactured in two further
material variants and there are additional dimensions available.
Variant one is dry-running polymer ball bearings for
high-temperature range and resistant up to 150°C, which have
been further developed in terms of wear.
The areas of application for anti-magnetic and highly
corrosion-resistant open systems are in; medicine, the chemical
industry, food industry, pharmaceutical and bio-technology as
well as in plant engineering that are easy to clean. Variant two
are maintenance-free polymer ball bearings for broader
application areas in the normal temperature range made of
special plastic.
Year after year, more than 120 new polymer compounds are
prepared and more than 8,000 tests are carried out in the Igus
development laboratory. This gives customers’ precise forecasts
of the service life of the bearing in their particular
application use or to develop completely new areas of
application.
The tests mainly focus on wear, friction value and drive
forces required under a wide range of load and speed collectives
as well as further environmental conditions (temperature, media,
soiling, impact and blows).
