Oerlikon’s innovations received good response

The business units of Oerlikon Textile are the market leaders in virtually every technology area. Oerlikon  Barmag provides solutions for the highly efficient, eco friendly and conservation focussed production of commodity as well as specialty yarns.

In the DTY sector, the focus is on the eFK texturing machine, which – with the energy-saving godet technology from the MPS and COCOON and the ergonomic handling of the FK6-1000 – unites the proven technologies from various Oerlikon Barmag texturing machines.

Oerlikon Schlafhorst’s market-leading winding, ring spinning and rotor spinning technology was on display at Shanghaitex.

Oerlikon Schlafhorst is the only supplier on the market to provide the spinning mills all over the world with the entire product line, irrespective of the spinning process. The Autoconer 5 with the innovative PreciFX reflects innovative leadership in the field of automatic package winding. In the field of compact yarns as well as of short staple spinning of cotton and long staple spinning of wool, the technological details and advantages of the Zinser CompACT³ system stand out. Oerlikon Schlafhorst offers the entire rotor spinning machine family – Autocoro and BD line - with new performance features for more quality and productivity.

Oerlikon Neumag is the only supplier to offer the most comprehensive portfolio with turnkey solutions for the production of airlaid and spunbond webs for hygienic, medical, filtering and automotive purposes among other things. The range comprises package solutions for spunbond webs, carded webs and airlaid products as well as the single technologies meltblown, carding, cross lapping, needling, aerodynamic carding and festooning. On the other hand, it is possible to combine different methods for developing innovative non-woven products and processes and for opening up new markets.

Oerlikon Saurer is the world market leader in embroidery and twisting systems.  In the embroidery sector, the product lines Saurer and Melco are the leading suppliers of shuttle embroidering machines and multi-head machines. Mr. Andreas Engelhardt, Senior Manager International Business addressing the  Oerlikon Shanghaitex press conference mentioned that the measures for a recovery of the Chinese textile and apparel industry will depend upon a number of factors including: stimulus for the domestic demand textile consumption, continued market adjustment unhampered by regulations and subsidies, market driven investments in new fibers and applications  and last but not the least increased efforts for eco-friendly manufacturing process.

He mentioned that it is important for China to forge and strengthen alliances and cooperation on a global stage.  Nationals brands should be developed and enforced.  The opportunity of potentially US$40 billion  in formerly quota restricted categories should be tapped by Chinese entrepreneurs. He emphasized a concentration on high value added and high margin products.

Mr. Wang Jun, President Oerlikon China emphasized that the Oerlikon Group has seen the highest increase in Sales in Asia and there is greater room for growth of the Chinese textile industry due to increasing urbanization trend which is at present 46%.  More than 300 million people will be urbanized by 2020 with increased industrialization and high growth of Chinese economy.

According to Mr. Wan Jun, Chinese textile industry is repositioned as a traditional pillar industry and livelihood industry with a focus on industry upgrade by the government of China.

The environment is encouraging for innovation and application of new technology in China.  Mr. Wan Jun emphasized that the development strategy  and product characteristics of Oerlikon are completely in line with the development strategy of Chinese textile industry and that Oerlikon will continue to provide full support to the industry with their advanced technologies and products.
