The latest export statistics by BTMA regarding of textile machinery exports from the UK during the first quarter of 2009 showed exports by region (Europe includes Turkey), and then the leading 10 export markets by value of machinery, also given is an indication of other emerging markets. The overall downward turn in global demand continues, as it did throughout 2008 although Asia seems, at this early stage in the year, to be showing signs of recovery.  The Americas for the first time are showing a dramatic fall. China continues to lead the way with a marginal increase with the USA, usually our best export market, continuing to spiral downwards.

Demand from European countries has fallen dramatically as the credit crunch takes its toll on them also. Turkey is nowhere to be seen. Not a very appetizing selection, but Taiwan, Rumania and Malaysia make a regular appearance.  Pakistan has also showed promise this quarter.
