Novelties at ITM Istanbul, Turkey

Van De Wiele - Super Shaggy-Loop Carpets

Super Shaggy-loop carpets woven on the Universal Shaggy-loop Pioneer USP93 Van de Wiele machine were displayed at ITM exhibition in Istanbul. These Super Shaggy-loop carpets, combining long cut pile up to 2 x 50 mm per carpet and loop pile up to 2 x 20 mm attracted the interest  of trade visitors.

The Jacquard designs on display combined this cut pile and loop pile structures with different pile yarns in texture and yarn count results in Shaggy-loop carpet with a rich pile structure with high/low effects and multiple pile reflects. Woven on the Shaggy Rug Pioneer SRP92 equipped with spoon lancets of 140 mm, Van de Wiele is presented Super Shaggy carpet up to 2 x 70 mm pile height.

On the Axminster machine MAX91 for up to 16 pile colours, without incorporated pile yarn, carpets  with handloom woven look carpets were displayed. The design is perfectly visible at the back and does not show any ground warp yarns. This carpet has the typical hand and touch of a knotted carpet.

Tapestry carpets woven on the VTR33  displayed at ITM 2009, exhibited the combined jacquard ground effects and face-to-face jacquard cut pile. Additional colours are obtained by a 2x6 filling selector. From fashionable modern upholstery, car and bus velvets, garment velvets up to technical fabrics, numerous velvet applications woven on Velvet Tronic VTR23 in dobby execution and on VTR33 in jacquard execution are on display.

Velvets with more texture, combining pile surfaces and flat woven jacquard effects, know as Italian Velvet, both for trendy as for classic designs, were presented to demonstrate the versatility of the VTR33.
