DyStar acquires Rhodia's sodium amide business

DyStar, the reliable partner for products and solutions for the textile and chemical industry, acquired the sodium amide business of the Rhodia Group (France) in February 2009, which principally comprises sodium amide formulating technology and the customer base.

The formulation of sodium amide is to be relocated from Rhodia's production location in Norwich, UK, to DyStar's site in Ludwigshafen, Germany, where production is scheduled to start at the end of the 1st quarter 2010.

DyStar has a significant chemical production footprint around the world and will continue to strengthen its technological capacity to offer customers best-in-class service.

This transaction underscores DyStar's extensive competence in complex chemical synthesis, formulating and product technologies.
