ShanghaiTex 2009 - Professional trading platform for cutting-edge textile machinery

The International Exhibition on Textile Industry (ShanghaiTex) is the oldest textile industry exhibition in China – and a unique national brand. Started in 1984, ShanghaiTex has been held biennially in odd-numbered years. Over the past 25 years, the exhibition has provided a professional trading platform for cutting-edge textile machinery and the textile industry as a whole. A key marketplace, the 14th ShanghaiTex – now celebrating its silver jubilee, will provide a platform for showcasing state-of-the-art textile machinery and a wide-array of related accessories in 2009.

The 14th International Exhibition on Textile Industry (ShanghaiTex 2009), will unveil at Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Pudong, Shanghai, PR China from June 12 - 15, 2009. ShanghaiTex is sponsored by Shanghai Textile Holding (Group) Corporation, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai Sub-council, China Chamber of International Commerce Shanghai Chamber of Commerce, and organized by Shanghai International Exhibition Co., Ltd., Shanghai Textile Technology Service & Exhibition Center and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd.

This year, ShanghaiTex strives to be a highly professional, technology-oriented, service-minded, and high-value-added trading platform for textile enterprises from across the globe to launch new technologies and new products, enhance brand images, as well as explore new markets. As an international textile exhibition, ShanghaiTex has been devoting to create business opportunities for local and overseas exhibitors and buyers. The show is regarded as one of the most representative textile exhibitions in the world matching with the development trends of textile industry, new equipments.

Textile industry is a traditional key industry of China's economy, it also has the explicit competitiveness globally. Despite the fact that since the 2nd half of year 2008, export oriented companies of textile industry have been suffering at different extent due to the global economic downturn, however, as China's textile industry still have its competitive edge, together with the support of government, including increase of the export tax rebate rate for textile products and apparels from 14% to 15%, developing international and domestic markets actively, special fund to support technologies transformation and innovation, support to the advantageous backbone corporations, enforcing the acquisition of cotton and silk from the "Revitalizing Plan" , etc, ensures that  leading foreign textile machinery manufacturers still have confidence in Chinese market. It is believed that Chinese textile industry is developing from "large" to "strong", and enterprises utilising existing market situation, meaning that "survival of the fittest" to enlarge their market share and upgrade the product technologies.

With strong confidence in Chinese economy, and a reliable brand image built by ShanghaiTex in previous years, ShanghaiTex 2009 has gained support from exhibitors and textile industry. Numerous corporations will take ShanghaiTex 2009 as their most important platform for market promotion in 2009.

With tremendous growth of textile industry in China through the past decades, "Textile Factory of the World" is a title directly revealing China's dominance. Nevertheless, the increasing cost of raw materials and labor force is slowing down the development. After 8 years of rapid growth, Chinese product can no longer rely on low selling price in the competition, in other words; the era of high quality production with modern technology arrives.

On the other hand, there is an increase in apparels consumption and Chinese manufacturers are not only concerned about product export, but also domestic selling, which also contributes an increase of textile machinery demand.

To meet the eminent needs of the Chinese market, lots of exhibitors will introduce the energy saving, environmental friendly and efficient equipments at ShanghaiTex 2009 and some will even make the debut of their newest machineries. Energy-saving, environmentally friendly new equipment and technologies will be the focus, as environmental protection and energy conservation are two areas of concern in China's macro economic adjustment measures.

ShanghaiTex, being a pioneer branding textile machinery exhibition with over 25-years history, is highly recognized by worldwide textile professionals.

Visitors from many countries and regions have pre-registered for visiting. Besides, buyer delegations from India, Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Turkey have sent confirmation to visit the show. It is expected that exhibition area will reach 100,000 sqm, exhibitors from 17 countries and regions, including France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Turkey, Austria, Denmark, USA, Japan, Korea, India, Singapore, Iran, PR China, Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan Province, etc, will be participated. Scale of ShanghaiTex 2009 made it the world's largest professional textile machinery exhibition in 2009, and it becomes the first choice for local and overseas textile manufacturers to source for the latest machineries and technologies.

The famous sport wear manufacturers Columbia has visited ShanghaiTex for many editions, and they are eagerly looking for cutting- edge machinery and technology, in line with the development and manufacturing for its high-end and multi –functional clothing materials in recent years. Mr. Feng Lin, Quality Control Manager of Colombia , Shanghai Office and his colleagues take ShanghaiTex seriously by pre-registering earlier. Overseas trade associations such as Indian Textile Association, Indonesian Textile Association and All Pakistan Mills Association also confirmed to have delegations to visit .

Encouraging news from the progress of VIP buyer invitations in China the renowned key buyer enterprises such as Stepwolves Group , Shanshan Group , Ruyi Group , Ruthai Textile Group etc., all confirmed to visit ShanghaiTex2009 with high expectation on the mega event. Several textile and fashion associations such as those from Shantou, Shenzhen and Zhongshan etc., also organize delegations to visit. Since its debut in 1984, ShanghaiTex has been developing to be one of the most influential textile exhibitions in Asia. The 14th edition of ShanghaiTex (SHANGHAITEX 2009) will be held in June 12-15, 2009 with new record high exhibitions scale.
