| Anti-dumping duty
re-imposed on nylon cord fabrics from China
The Ministry of Finance, India has imposed anti-dumping duty
on nylon cord fabric imported from China on March 31, 2009 after
the sunset review initiated in September 2008. India had
conducted an investigation in to allegations of dumping of nylon
cord fabric imported from China in October 2003 and recommended
imposition of anti-dumping duty in March 2005, which again came
up for review in September 2008.
The Ministry of Finance has imposed an anti-dumping duty of
US $1.24 per kg on exports done particularly by Ningbo Jinlun
Import & Export Company Ltd, China and $1.76 from any other
country including from China. India is also likely to impose
safeguard duty, an emergency import duty, on about 12 other
products originating from China. The government will initiate
safeguard duty investigations on about 12 to 13 products
belonging to chemicals and base metals sector.
