German Review

Andritz Küsters offers technologies and ranges for the production of textiles and nonwovens

Andritz Küsters is an enterprise of the Andritz Group located in Krefeld. The enterprise comprises of the divisions Nonwoven and Paper of the former Eduard Küsters Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG and the Coating Division of the Swiss Bachofen + Meier AG. Andritz Küsters controls all products, patents and trademark rights in these business areas. The prime focus of the business activity is the development and sale of technologies and ranges for the production and finishing of nonwovens, textiles, cardboard and paper. At the locations in Krefeld (D), Spartanburg (USA) and Bülach (CH) the enterprise has a total of about 400 employees.

Andritz Küsters, will present their complete product range of calenders and rolls for the textile industry as well as machinery for the nonwoven industry at Shanghaitex 2009 within the German Pavilion at Hall W2, Booth B54.

The enterprise from Krefeld, Germany is well supported by their representatives AKM (based in Shanghai and Hong Kong), who have derived from Kuesters Far East and Kuesters Shanghai. All AKM sales and service staff are extremely familiar with the Andritz Küsters products.

Under the motto “textile eXcellence” Andritz Küsters focuses upon their long experience and comprehensive knowledge in calender and roll technology.

“Textile calenders and rolls are made in Krefeld. And that for over 140 years!” states Andreas Lukas, Vice President of Andritz Küsters. This long experience of Küsters and Kleinewerfes has been the foundation of the new Andritz Küsters teXcal technology. “The two unique deflection controlled roll systems S-Roll and HyCon Roll are our core competence. Our clients get precisely the right calender technology their product needs.”

teXcal s-roll with a maximum line force of 400 N/mm.

With a maximum line force of 400 N/mm the teXcal s-roll with deflection control raises the bar to set new standards, especially in technical textiles which require defined low air permeability as e.g. parachute silk. Other deflection controlled calender systems with synthetic coatings are limited to a line force of 300 N/mm. This means that the fabric needs multiple calendering, whereas the teXcal s-roll with especially adjusted surface technology can achieve best compaction results in just one passage.

The original S-Roll technology from Andritz Küsters, Krefeld, shows excellent performance in a great variety of textile processes. Andritz Küsters and AKM offer worldwide comprehensive and competent service for all S-Roll systems in the textile industry, including repair, overhauling, original spare parts for roll and control system as well as original spare rolls.

In addition, Andritz Küsters present their entire range of services for the nonwoven industry. This includes leading calender technology as well as the latest developments in wet finishing of nonwovens and complete lines for wetlaid nonwovens.
