Dornier for the first time with new,
lean rapier weaving machine type PX
At India ITME, for the first time in India, DORNIER was
present and demonstrated the versatility of the new, lean rapier
weaving machine type PX. Well proven components, 8 weft colours
and the unsurpassed high flexibility of DORNIER´s positively
controlled center transfer make it a highly cost-efficient and
versatile machine attractive especially to home textile and
garment manufacturers. The machine is combined with BONAS
Jacquard shedding and dressed with a premium silk fabric in the
standard upholstery fabric width of 160 cm.
Next to the PX machine visitors admired a state of the art
DORNIER air-jet weaving machine renown for its outstanding
sturdiness, strong reed beat-up and remarkable insertion rate.
The AS machine was dressed with a realistic, high-density cotton
conveyor belt fabric, woven in 3 panels with tucked selvedges
using the patented DORNIER PneumaTucker®. A DORNIER PS, the
high-end version of the DORNIER rapier weaving machine, was
available with any user-defined extras, displayed on the STAUBLI
stand.
The machine, equipped with 16 weft colours as well as the
2-end full turn selvedge formation device MotoLeno®, weaves a
beautiful Goblin article showing the Taj Mahal and a high-class
upholstery fabric with on-the-fly pattern change. Visitors
interested in the DORNIER finishing machinery for tubular knit
goods viewed a scale 1:50 model of the latest mercerising
machine type EcoMerc®. The DORNIER finishing machinery´s core
piece, the patented circular expander enables an intensive and
optimum mercerising effect for tube diameters from 250 mm up to
a maximum of 1000 mm without any selvedge marks.
