Four day lecture programme for bedding sector by Heimtextil

Practical workshop for the Heimtextil Bedding Certificate will start on the first day of the Heimtextil, 14 January 2009 at International Trade Fair for Home and Contract Textiles, in Frankfurt am Main. On the last two days of the fair, 16 and 17 January 2009, the 'Let's talk about it' lecture area in Hall 8.0 (Stand H64) will focus on healthy sleep and innovative bedding.

With the 'Let’s talk about it' series of lectures, the Heimtextil aims to promote the exchange of information between manufacturers, dealers and designers about the latest developments. Markus Kamps, one of the experts who will speak during the workshop said, "Sleep makes us more attractive, gives us strength, invigorates the mind and ensures a longer life”.

The Heimtextil Bedding Certificate workshop will include best practice examples from innovative trading and manufacturing companies. However, consideration will also be given to scientific aspects of fabrics, fibres and filling materials.For example, Dr. Horst Seithe of the Centre for the New Born, Children and Young People of Nuremberg South Hospital, and Dr. Helmut Berck of the Patients' League for Respiratory Diseases (Patientenliga Atemwegserkrankungen) will discuss raw materials for bedding.

Dr. Wilhelm Rauch, General Manager of the Association of the Manmade Fibre Industry (Industriever - einigung Chemiefaser e.V.), will outline the economic significance of manmade fibres in the bedding sector while Markus Kamps, Wellness Practitioner for Sleep & Stress and Lecturer at Nagold Textile Polytechnic, will explain the biology of sleep and bedding as a system.

The Heimtextil Bedding Certificate is aimed at members of the specialist and retail trades and supported by LDT Nagold, the Federation of German Textile Retail Trade (Bundesverband des Deutschen Textileinzelhandels - BTE), the Association of the German Down and Feather Industry (Verband der Deutschen Daunen- and Federnindus-trie - VDFI)) and the Association of the Manmade Fibre Industry (In-dustrievereinigung Chemiefaser e.V. - IVC). The Certificate is awarded to all participants who attend at least three of the lectures.
