machinery industry gains competitive edge with ITM Exhibition
The premier edition of ITM 2004 was an international
success. The show went over the top with 770 exhibitors, 56,500 sqm
of net stand area and 56,229 visitors. The visitors from Middle East
countries included 2,382 from Iran, 2,728 from Syria and 867 visitors
from Pakistan 585 from China and 492 from Russia. Pakistan Textile
Journal would like to thank all the Pakistani visitors, Turkish friends
as well as visitors and exhibitors who visited our booth in the foyer
area at ITM in Turkey. The final ITM 2004 report and pictorial presentation
is given here for our valued readers. We take this oppoutunity to
extend our congratulations to the Teknik Fuarcilik and TUYAP Exhibition
and Congress Center for the successful event and look forward to the
next edition in 2007.

Leading textile machinery brands
Stressing that Turkish textile machinery exports gained impetus by
a very serious breakthrough, Kürsat Tüzmen, Minister of
State said, "Turkey reached a privileged point in textile machinery
sector through a high quality and reasonable prices in an environment
in which international firms compete in textile machinery sector from
all over the world”. Stating that the fair sector was one of
the sectors which would build Turkey up.

Tüzmen said: "All the leading textile firms
from the world over are now in this fair which is an obvious barometer
of this."Pointing out that Turkey is now among record-breakers
of the world by an increase of 32% in textle machinery exports, Tüzmen
said "Export of textile machines rose 46% during the first four
months of 2004."
Divergence in textile sector
Süleyman Orakçioglu, President of ITKIB, Turkish Spinners
Association emphasized that Turkey, sustaining its pioneering and
leader position in textile sector, would keep on successfully with
this position even in the future but to do this it is necessary to
follow up closely conjectural changes worldwide.
Orakçioglu added that “ITM 2004 was an important exhibition
in order to reveal the latest developments from all over the world
and in particular differences in the substructure of the textile machinery
sector”.
President of ITKIB, stressed that Turkish textile sector's export
accounted for 18 billion of dollars. This trend would increase further
also in the future as Turkey has achieved an export worth of 24 billion
US dollar in the first five months of this year”.
Drawing attention to the impetus gained by Turkish exports after 1980's,
Tugrul Ekin, president of Turkey-Eurasia Business Council said, “ITM
2004 was a result of endless patience, resolution and challenge of
Turkish businessmen”.
ITM exhibitions will be staged every two
years
Bülent Ünal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TUYAP
Exhibition and Congress Center stressed that Teknik Fuarcilik is providing
excellent services both in sector of publishing and fair organization.
He added: "I congragulate them and our long experience in the
fair organizing field, merged with the successes of Teknik Fuarcilik
is responsible for the birth of ITM 2004 which was due to this strong

partnership. I believe that the partnership of two
firms will continue and offer even broader services in the future.
I can announce the good news of this co-operation from now on with
a great pleasure. ITM exhibitions will continue to get the sector
of textile machines together with the world every two years"
said Ünal.
Success of ITM is a success of our nation
Necip Güney, sales and marketing director of Teknik Fuarcilik
said:"We succeed in things which have little chance of success,
and we make possible things impossible. This is a success of a nation.
I am very happy to share this pleasure with you”.
In fact, we worked round the clock as much in Turkey as abroad. Our
promotion campaign started from USA and ended at the Far East. It
will be organized once every two years. Because the big interest and
enthusiasm we saw today encouraged us and gave us hope to do this.
I can give you a piece of good news: ITM 2004 is about to become a
brand in the world.

Umit Vural, Technical Operation Director, Teknik Fuarcilik, pointed
out that the organization of such an exhibition was a good reason
of a very great pride for Teknik Fuarcilik especially in our country
which was in the process of entering the EU”.
Ümit Vural, Technical Operation Director of Teknik Fuarcilik,
said, “We are conscious of the responsability for this and we
completed all our preparations with a strong support of TUYAP and
took necessary measures against all probable impediments."
ITM 2004 organized under the slogan of "Textile exhibitions in
textile country” constitued a know-how for both exhibitors and
visitors.
Turkey, as a thriving country experienced an unprecedented growth
of 12.4% in the first quarter of 2004. The exports increased by 39.5%
in June and reached 5 billion 347 million US dollars. Textiles constitute
38% of the total export of Turkey.
