Textile machinery made in Germany enjoys an excellent
reputation in Pakistan. In 2002 the Pakistans
textile industry imported machines and accessories
for a total value of 316 million Euro, the German
share summed up to more than 79 million Euro, which
is more than the biggest competitors Switzerland
and Italy together and corresponds to a proportion
of 25%. Since 1999 German exports to Pakistan have
more than tripled. In 2003, however, deliveries
slightly decreased, the overall volume reached 65
million Euro. Weaving machines with 23 million Euro
were in great demand ahead of spinning machines
with 17 million Euro. Demand for washing, bleaching,
dyeing and finishing machines decreased to 9 million
Euro, whereas the demand for knitting machines grew
more than 5 million Euro. Business with parts and
accessories attained about 13 million Euro.
More than 130 German textile machinery manufacturers
are affiliated with the Textile Machinery Association
within VDMA (German Engineering Federation).

ITMA 2007 comes to Munich
The Textile Machinery Association within VDMA has been
authorized by CEMATEX to stage the next ITMA. The world's
greatest trade fair of the branch will take place in Munich
from 13th to 20th September 2007.
This decision meets in an ideal manner the high demands
of the exhibitors and the numerous visitors from all over
the world. The organizers reckon on more than 1300 exhibitors,
who will occupy the overall fairground. In view of the
attractive venue, more than 100,000 visitors will be expected.
