with more finishing options than ever. New technology
and techniques developed by the company make the finishing
process easier and more effective, and even eliminate
some of the traditional processes.
Integral stretching
The Thermex 6500 is an all-new loop dryer, now available
with an integral stretching unit for denim treatment.
The stretching unit draws fabric selectively in a longitudinal
and transverse direction over a distance of 45m. Gentler
than other methods, it produces a finished width and fabric
appearance with an exact weft thread. Skewed weft settings
are achieved through the application of only slight longitudinal
strains.
The drying treatment in the hotflue allows for more precise
temperature control than with the conventional drying
methods. The result is more precise residual moisture
content before shrinking.
The Thermex 6500 is available with 140mm diameter roller
as standard or an optional 180mm version. Manufactured
with stainless steel, the rollers in the drying section
are Teflon-coated, while those in the thermosoling section
have a highly-polished surface finish.
An AC motor powers each pair of upper rollers. This improves
adjustability and allows for higher speeds, compared to
the single chain drive used on previous Thermex models.
The motors can be controlled by either a common or individual
frequency converter.
When combined with Vacu-Foam application units, hotflue
drying allows for much higher production speeds. Drying
the fabric in the hotflue also requires significantly
less space than with other range systems.
For denim articles with elastane fibres, it is possible
to stabilise the fabric by heating it up in the hotflue
and fixing the width on a short stretching section.
New methods
Example of ranges using the new finishing methods for
denim is a hotflue with a stretching unit function. This
compact design is suitable for drying classic and elastic
fabrics without fixing of Lycra fibres.
Adding a stenter to the configuration allows the range
to be used for fixing Lycra based fabrics.
The range can also be configured with the hotflue, stenter
and a washing section in a continuous arrangement, with
or without fixing of Lycra fibres.
More effective shrinking
Available in special versions for denim, the Monforts
compressive shrinkage units offer lower running costs
and increased reliability, and they use less water. New
features include edge cooling of the rubber belt for longer
service lives, cooling water recycling and the new Twin-Shrink
system for improved shrinkage and hand.
In control
A key feature of all new Monforts machines is new control
desk. This ergonomically-designed 'cockpit' provides easy
access to all the main control and operating functions
via a touchscreen monitor located at eye level. A simple
menu system guides operators through the set-up procedure.
To make it even easier for operators to move from one
type of machine to another, Monforts has introduced a
uniform design for operating systems across its whole
product range.
The standard Qualitex 540 control system allows important
operating parameters, including temperature set points,
fan speeds, overfeeds and tension for fabric transfer
devices to be set and monitored using the touchscreen.
The optional Qualitex 740 is a full-scale, programmable
logic process controller that incorporates the Monformatic
system. Additional functions offered by Qualitex 740 include
the storage of set-up data, batch management, network
interfacing and automatic nozzle pressure control.
Wireless
The network interfacing options include using Monforts
iTEC wireless LAN (local area network) system to access
speed and temperature settings and error and maintenance
status messages from anywhere in the workshop via a hand-held
PC. Messages can also be transmitted to mobile phones
via SMS to mobile phones or e-mailed to a desktop PC.
Support around the clock
|
The introduction of a new web-based parts ordering
system allows customers to order genuine Monforts
spare parts any time of the day or night by visiting
the Monforts website and logging-in to Spare Parts
Finder catalogue.
Parts are listed by part number, location on the
machine or position in a circuit diagram. Illustrations
and photographs are provided to help with parts
identification.
Monforts has also Teleservice to include checking
of the range of settings, troubleshooting on sensors
and actuators, remedying drive problems, evaluating
trend diagrams and detecting operator errors. Software
updates, customised adaptation of software and the
elimination of programming errors are also possible.

Teleservice enables customers to get round-the-clock
technical support through a combination of a telephone
hotline and real-time remote monitoring of their equipment
by a technician at Monforts' headquarters in Germany.
It initially covered sub assemblies, drives, controllers
and process displays.
Teleservice is included with any machine still under
warranty. After that, customers pay a lump sum according
to the level and amount of support they require.
MAHLO
Automatic straightening machine & process control
system: ORTHOPAC RVMC
|
Apart from many new developments in the field of
process automation, the Mahlo GmbH & Co.KG will
present the combination of an automatic straightening
machine and a process control system called ORTHOPAC
RVMC.
Based on many years of experience in the field
of straighteners and process control systems Mahlo
combined both into one assembly. The construction
of the ORTHOPAC RVMC is extremely compact and versatile,
and can be modified according to customer's requirements
in a block building way.

The new straightener generation with extremely sensitive
scanning electronics incorporates an intelligent signal
processing system and adapts itself to most fabric qualities.
Detection and automatic straightening of even most complicated
and complex fabric constructions is no issue.
In addition to a/m various sensors for measurement and
control of cloth temperature, dwell time, moisture retention,
exhaust humidity and weight can be connected to the electronics
integrated in the side panel of the mechanical straightener
via latest Ethernet technology.
All measured values, including the measured distortion
configuration, can be displayed on the same user friendly
TFT touch screen, which is also used as user/machine interface.
