TEMCO

New LE11.Y14A jet insert for LD22 interlacing jet
TEMCO has recently launched the new LE11.Y14A jet insert for the LD22 interlacing jet with increased output, reduced air consumption and energy savings of 10% compared to the competitors.

Interlacing of multi-und micro - polyester yarns in texturing (e.g. 150 den) is a wide-spread and worldwide application. Especially for this application area, TEMCO has successfully further optimised the proven Y- interlacing technology. Here, a jet insert has been developed to further improve interlacing qualities (higher number of interlacing knots, improved uniformity), together with significantly reduced air consumption to that of comparable competitors' interlacing jets.

Due to an innovative surface geometry, the interlacing conditions inside the yarn channel are optimised, leading to improved interlacing quality. The new LE11.Y14A is able to achieve full performance within the lower pressure range, starting from 2.2 bar. Through the reduced diameter of the airflow orifice, energy savings of 10% compared to other standard jets from European competitors are achievable.

TEMCO´s orders currently exceed 3,000 type LD22 interlacing jets with the new jet insert. This huge demand demonstrates that yarn manufacturers are recognising the

opportunity for significant process cost savings to be made without loss of quality, particularly in the competitive standard yarn area.

PLEVA

measuring & control devices for preparation, drying & Dyeing
If sensors and measuring instruments are used in the textile industry in the appropriate manner, production processes become safer and reproducibility is improved. This increases the level of quality and productivity while reducing energy costs, resulting in lower manufacturing costs also on knits.

Knitted fabric and its high pick-up (90-140%) of water which is carried into the drying or heat setting process shows significant cost saving potential. Cellulose/Lycra blends are widely spreaded worldwide and especially the preparation process is getting more difficult.

It is important to define and control heat setting parameters precisely to fulfil today's requirements from leading retailers. To obtain these objectives Pleva offers sensors, measuring and control devices for following applications:

Measuring and Control of Size Add-On

· Fabric temperature at tensionless dryer for controlling the speed (IR 112), at stenter for dwell-time control of finishing and heat setting processes (TDS 95) and in Cold Pad-Batch to calculate minimum/ maximum batching time to avoid tailing and side/centre shade variation (IR 112).
· AF 310 with CIMATIC Padder ControlPLUS, the 6. generation of liquor pick-up and applied moisture measurement of this microwave system is ideally suited for the measurement of applied moisture levels for application of dye, glue, foam and coatings.
· New structure detecting system SD 1 including automatic straightening machine SL 1 for knits and woven fabric (thread counting and width measurement).

KARL MAYER

lingerie textiles produced on the new FL 20/16
The new FL 20/16 lace machine from KARL MAYER can be used to produce beautiful, large-repeat, floral designs on powernet fabrics, checks in rigid geometric lines on stretch grounds, or decorative crinkle effects on delicate underwear fabrics.

A glimmering effect is created by using gold, shiny blackberry-coloured yarns, or silvery-pink threads in large motifs.

The FL 20/16 can also produce clipped effects. To do this, the floating yarns are cut off in a second processing sequence. The result is a pattern featuring free-standing, clearly defined design elements, with an attractive, three-dimensional appearance.

The FL 20/16 is a versatile machine which can also operate at high speeds. The compact arrangement of the guide bars means that this lace machine can operate at maximum speeds of 700 rpm, which has not been possible to achieve until now.

The Textronic Lace machine TL66/1/36 is faster, and operates more accurately, thanks to the new patterning concept. The new machine also shown at ITMA is also easier to handle and maintain. Pattern designing is simpler, and the production capacity is greater and more differentiated.

The new RSE 5 EL operates at high speeds and with EL control, this new, all-round machine can produce a stretch, extravagantly patterned fabric for underwear and outerwear.
The new GIR-O-MATIC warp preparation machine offers a range of patterns that can be produced and the possibility of producing short production runs.

Main features include long running lengths, a high level of patterning flexibility, and high warp quality. The flexibility of being able to choose between producing smaller runs and sample warps at top productivity makes the GIRO-O-MATIC the perfect replacement for several conventional section warping machines.

The new GOM sample warping machine is particularly popular among the producers of colour-woven goods in Turkey, where it has proved to be a reliable, efficient and flexible machine, and the HKS 3-M with its versatile production range meets market requirements. Easy to handle and highly productive, the machine produces square mesh or toy plush, automotive fabrics, or underwear qualities, or whatever the customer wants.

A revolution in the finishing of tubular fabrics
Traditionally tubular fabric is treated discontinuously. Normally this is done on jets, in overflows or on winches. Disadvantages are the long process times, the high consumption of water and energy, no fabric shrinkage or even fabric elongation, rope marks and hairiness or pilling on the surface.

To finish tubular fabric in open width without slitting it, was a topic which came up again and again during discussions with customers. Especially commission finishers have shown high interest in such a range- in case it would exist.

Following this market demand, GTM Goller developed the respective system components for the open width treatment of tubular fabric. A condition was, that these elements can be integrated into the field-proven Sintensa programme. Thus a universal finishing range for the open width treatment of tubular fabric was engineered, which also will handle normal open width fabric, i.e. rashel, slit tubular or wovens.

The specialities of the new range concept are:
· Working with upto two tubular fabrics side by side.
· Ballooning of the tubular fabric by air injection and special sensors.
· Intelligent fabric guiding for tubular fabric and open width treatment of other normal fabric.
· Automatic process change from tubular fabric to open width fabric and vice versa.
With the Goller Rontensa, GTM offers a machine concept to the textile producer with the highest flexibility. At the same time the disadvantages of discontinuous finishing of tubular fabric are eliminated.

Low water and energy consumption (approx 50% to 70% less compared to discontinuous treatment) relaxation of the fabric and an even and homogeneous fabric surface are the highlights for the finisher.

The machine concept was also presented in Birmingham. Last year in May 2003, Goller Rontensa range was delivered to a Turkish Customer.
