DORNIER

Latest developments of the
Weaving Machines System Family

The new performance generation of DORNIER type AS airjet weaving machines has been successful in productive operation since 2002. This performance level has now also been integrated in their PS rapier weaving machines within the scope of Dornier system family. Shorter, strengthened drives, mechanical modifications in construction and best possible material selection adapted both machine types to meet future market performance demands through another significant improvement in the already excellent vibration behaviour.

New developments in filling insertion on airjet weaving machines offers decisive advantages in terms of universality, energy consumption as well as ease of operation. All three airjet weaving machines are run with the new, patented pressure regulation, ServoControl . This minimizes thread load and allows automatic, reproducible pressure adjustment, for yarn lot changes as well, plus higher performance with better final fabric quality.

The three rapier weaving machines are fitted with patented air cushion guide, AirGuide. The linear movement of the rigid DORNIER rapier rod is ideal for this air cushion guide - the perfect technical solution for contact-free, aerostatic support. Further new constructional developments reduce the time needed for width changes and improve Jacquard weaving with extreme up and down movements by adapting cloth guidance and shed geometry. Dornier's open shed filling insertion has proven itself and ensures excellent final quality especially for trendy piece-dyed Elastan cloths.

Terry & leno cloths
Dornier recently showed a newly developed terry airjet weaving machine, ServoTerry, at ITMA Birmingham. The decisive advantage over existing systems is the direct drive for terry movement using a servomotor. This allows varying pile interlacing and infinitely adjustable pile heights during running.

Worldwide service concept
The CAN Bus, introduced in 1989 together with the VGA color display used on both, airjet as well as rapier machines, supports reliable internal and external control, regulation and monitoring processes. The innovative Teleservice by Dornier offers the necessary Ethernet connections and set new standards for the complete system family since 1997.
Teleservice provides competent expert support with comprehensive local service. This reduces downtimes, increases production reliability and provides a significant extra benefit for Dornier weaving machines.

Gentle processing of sensitive circular fabrics
Dornier as one of the market leaders in the textile finishing machines sector for circular fabrics, knitwear and hosiery in the finishing processes bleaching, mercerising, singeing and heat setting.
Materials such as Micro-Modal, Elastan etc. are becoming more and more popular but are highly sensitive and, therefore, not always easy to process and also place high demands on production machines. Dornier meets these demands with a new patented, contact-free magnetic mounting that ensures fabric transport free from pressure and distortion over the proven circular expander. This innovation can be retrofitted to existing units. The EcoSqueeze is a new Dornier circular squeezing machine. It serves water removal for knitwear with common tube widths in round condition. Squeezing effects up to 50% residual moisture are attained, of course without selvedge marks as well as free from distortion and creases.
