Pakistan is world famous for its home-textiles, especially
its bedsheets. The quality levels reached are world standard,
the prices match, distribution networks are efficient and meet
the expectations of the customers. Other countries are also
in this market segment: India, China, Vietnam, etc.
If Pakistan wants to keep its leading market position it has
to tackle this challenge. Cost analysis and better efficiency
are self-understanding. The goal must be to strengthen the market
position by offering new products into changing markets. This
could be i.e. the vast field of elastic fabrics, wether it is
wovens with elasthan content in warp and also in weft, wether
it is knits in different fibre mixtures and constructions, or
wether it is towel fabrics. It could also be value added goods
such as stripe-sateens.
Traditionally all these fabrics are finished in Pakistan in
a discontinuous way on Jets, Overflows, Softlows etc.
In daily work unfortunately there are a lot of problems: rope-marks,
hairy surface, fabric elongation and production costs. From grey
to finished, the water requirement in a discontinuous finishing
is approx. 150 l/kg of fabric. Together with it comes the heating
energy, the electricity and the manpower.
A lot of the described difficulties can be avoided with continuous
open width finishing of the goods.
· no rope marks as the fabric is always guided in open
width form. For dwelling processes it is plaited in special
compartments which are avoiding any pressure on the fabric.
· A very clean surface of the fabric without pillings
and hairiness.
· Controlled fabric tension with even the possibility
of shrinking and relaxing the fabric by a defined overfeed between
the washing elements.
· Low water and energy consumption. Measured values for
water are around 25 - 30 l/kg.
All this becomes possible with the Sintensa program of GTM Goller
Textilmaschinen GmbH, which has proven its efficiency and reliability
in the market with leading textile companies all around the
world.
The key element of every range is the Sintensa washing compartment
in tandem execution. The fabric is guided over a perforated
drum. Inside a rotor with a specially designed surface is running,
which creates a crosslow through the fabric. Through this mechanically
created turbulence, the washing effect becomes independent from
the fabric speed and the fabric construction. Between the 2
washing sections a big dimensioned timing drum is arranged to
give time for migration, dissolving and sacking of the liquor.
To keep fabric's tension under strict control, all fabric guiding
elements including the rotors, are equipped with an individual
AC-drive with frequency control.
With the computer operation system of the machine it is very
easy to adjust the range to the required process parameters,
including overfeed of the fabric. This really makes it possible
to shrink the fabric or depending on the quality to run it with
zero lenghtening through the range. As all parameters are saved
in recipes, reproducibility is no problem at all.
Essential for the fabric tension is the fact that the fabric
is always guided. One could also say it is carried through the
range. With this and the spiral expanders installed in every
compartment, creases and curling edges are no more a production
risk.
Depending on the process step, various accessories can be added
to the compartment. This can be circulation systems, with self-cleaning
filter, pump and sprays, chemical dosings, ph-regualtions, etc.
A newly developped device is the Vapora, which is arranged above
the big dwelling drum. Through this jacket a mixture of steam
and process water is poured onto the fabric. With the increase
in temperature and the high turbulence created on the fabric,
even difficult to remove impurities become immediately dissolved
and are rinsed away.
Many processes in the finishing of the fabric require also
a certain dwell time. For this case the Goller offers it Unirelaxa
with a number of interesting features.

This machine is available with 1 - 3 sections. In any
case the fabric is plaited only for a shorter while onto
a st.st. mesh conveyor, before it is taken again by the
dwelling drum. After this it is plaited again. The advantage
is that the position of the fabric folds changes, thus
reducing the danger of permanent platemarks. This is essential
for fabrics with artificial fibre content. This replacement
improves also the dwelling effect for soaping, relaxing
and shrinking. Part of the unit are flush-drums. Before
the fabric reaches the big dwelling drum, a liquor exchange
becomes effective. This improves further the effects on
the fabric.
In the Sintensa program all mashine elements are equipped
with an indirect heating system. The technical solution
is a thermplate, which consists of 2 st.st. plates which
are laser-welded and then ballooned. The indirect heating
guarantees besides its noise freeness an absolute even
treatment temperature in the compartment. It also ensure
that no iron rust particles come to the fabric, creating
i.e. pinholes through catalytic damage in bleaching.

GOLLER UNIRELAXA
The intelligent completion to Goller Sintensa, Goller Unirelaxa
offers relaxing, dwelling, soaping, and bleaching. All these
continuous processes on wet treatments for textiles requires
individual dwelltime. In this multifunctional compartment the
finisher can treat the whole range of goods from high elastic
knitted fabrics to dimension stable fabrics without problems.
The dwelling compartment GOLLER UNIRELAXA provides two possibilities
of fabric guidance. First, to use this element, is a tight strand
fabric guiding. This can be useful for a few of sensitive synthetic
fibres for a crease free fabric transport. In this case the
fabric is guiding over perforated drums. All dwelling, guiding
drums and expanders are adjustable with frequency regulated
motors for a tensionless transport of the fabric.
The second possibility is a combination of a plaiting down
on conveyor and tight strand fabric guiding. This compartment
can be extended up to three sections. The plaited fabric will
be lifted after a pre-selected time. After each diffusion drum
there is a new formation of the package and the cloth loop has
another position. This moving of the package avoids crease marks,
provides an optimum of the cross flow through the fabric and
improves the shrinkage due to tensionless cloth transportation.
The heating system, with temperatures from room temperature
up to boiling temperature makes it possible with indirect steam
through Thermplates. A further advantage is to avoid catalytic
damages.
With the washing element Gießwalze GTM Goller developed
a technical novelty. This innovation is a perforated fabric
guiding drum, with integrated liquor distribution pipe. With
this perforated diffusion drum the liquor achieves a cross flow
through the fabric and improves the washing effect. With the
new Unirelaxa and many options, GTM Goller offers the ideal
customer solution for all pre-treatment processes.
