TRUTZSCHLER

Latest innovations in Cards and Drawframe Technology

Truetzschler, together with Truetzschler Textile Machinery (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., was represented at ShanghaiTex during 10-13, December 2003, with a 255 m² booth. Truetzschler presented at ITMA 2003 their new Card TC 03 and the new Draw Frame TD 03. An excerpt of the article by Dipl. - Ing. Jutta Soell from Trutzschler is given here for the interest of our readers in Pakistan.

More than one year has already passed since the opening of our subsidiary Truetzschler Textile Machinery (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (TTMS) was celebrated. Truetzschler has been manufacturing draw frames for the Chinese market in the new plant since the 4th quarter of 2002.

The Truetzschler strategy in P. R. China is working very well, which is reflected in the numerous orders Truetzschler could gain since set-up of TTMS in Shanghai. Truetzschler has already reached a market share for imported machines of around 80%.

The introduction of production and supply of the Truetzschler Chinese made machines, like e. g. the HSR1000 High Performance Draw Frame (auto-levelled one delivery draw frame), has been a great success.

Tied on to the success of sales of draw frames, TTMS have extended their product range by manufacturing the latest special High Production Card DK 788, especially introduced for the local Chinese market. Until now approx. 50 sets of this model of cards have been sold to customers in mainland China.

TCO3 Machine

Truetzschler presented their new Card TC 03 and the new Draw Frame TD 03 at Shanghai-Tex. Both machines are new designs which take their places in the Truetzschler philosophy of permanent further developments.

In the centre of the development efforts there was - as always with Truetzschler - the aim to increase the benefits of the users. This specifically means a higher productivity through higher production and higher efficiency. The improvements of efficiency are reached through a running behaviour with nearly no sliver breakages, through reducing the down times for maintenance and cleaning and through the flexible utilization without long set-up times. Both machines set new standards.

Example: Cleaning facilities

For the cleaning personnel, all machine areas are accessible within a few seconds. No tool must be taken for removing sheet-metal casings or machine elements. The Truetzschler Card TC 03 is equipped with a freely suspended top structure. There is neither a single strut nor support hindering the access to the machine.

Example: Maintenance facilities

Truetzschler Card TC 03 and Truetzschler Draw Frame TD 03 are equipped with completely maintenance-free motors. Gears, chain drives and similar typical maintenance points have been

dropped. The Truetzschler Card TC 03, for example, only has 4 lubricating points. Thus extensive central lubrication systems, which pollute the machines with their excess grease, are a relic of the past.

In addition, a colour touch screen simplifies fault elimination. Instead of difficult and time-consuming trouble shooting, there are hints in form of photographs, diagrams and drawings which directly help the maintenance specialist.

Example: Quality and at the same time economic efficiency

For the first time, self-optimizing functions have been incorporated in a card and a draw frame: These functions directly improve quality and economic efficiency.

The main draft at the Truetzschler Draw Frame TD 03 is pre-set by the spinning plan. The extent of break draft of a draw frame considerably influences the yarn quality. At the Draw Frame TD 03, Autodraft can determine the optimum break draft fully automatically within only one minute. An additional servo motor separately drives the central drafting system cylinder. After activating the optimizing function, the draw frame starts and moves about the total break draft area. During this time, the draft forces are evaluated and thousands of measuring values are collected. When all results are there, Autodraft calculates an ideal break draft for the specific material and proposes it to the operator, who only has to acknowledge this value.

It is the amount of separated waste that decides on the economic efficiency of a card or of a cleaner in the blowroom. Half a percent too much waste easily means 100 000 Euro or more per year of unnecessary raw material cost. Therefore, Truetzschler developed Wastecontrol. Wastecontrol measures the composition of the waste with an optical sensor. If there are too many good fibres in the waste, the position of the knife at the 1st licker-in of the Truetzschler Card TC 03 is adjusted by means of a servomotor. At the cleaners, however, the position of the deflector blades is adjusted.

Example: Flexibility without hollow compromises

On the one hand, the card users want to have a card which is optimized for the specific application, on the other hand, however, they need a card for any type of application. This

apparent paradox no longer seems to be one with the new Truetzschler Card TC 03 equipped with the Multi Webclean system. Any natural and man-made fibre up to 60 mm length can be processed on this flexibly applicable card. By exchanging only a few machine elements of the Multi Webclean system the card can nevertheless be exactly adapted to the specific raw material within a few minutes. And the exact adaptation to the raw material is exactly the extra quality which the spinner needs in today's tough competition. The Multi Webclean elements are mainly special carding and cleaning units which can be

flexibly arranged in the pre-carding and after-carding areas in different executions and in different numbers. For man-made fibre carding, e.g., more opening is needed, dirty cotton needs more carding, fine cottons for combed yarns need more parallelization. All these factors can be influenced in an aimed way by the Multi Webclean system.

New compact blowroom

High in performance, yet compact in design. This is the new compact blowroom made by Truetzschler. A complete blowroom line is composed of only 4 multi-function machines. This not only saves space. A lower current consumption and lower exhaust air volumes improve the economic efficiency. Nevertheless, there are no compromises regarding cleaning, opening and blending quality, even at a production rate of 800 kg/h.

The Truetzschler compact blowroom consists of following 4 machines:
· The Automatic Bale Opener BLENDOMAT BO-A
· The Multi Function Separator SP-MF
· The mixer- cleaner combination with High Production Cleaner CLEANOMAT CL-C 4
· The Foreign Part Separator SP.MF.

The first machine of the compact blowroom is the Automatic Bale Opener Blendomat BO-A. It produces the right tuft size for further processing.

The next machine, the Multi Function Separator SP-MF is a completely new development. A fan for sucking off the Blendomat is integrated in this machine. The fan speed is controlled fully automatically and is always only as high as is needed for the suction of the Blendomat. This saves electric power.

A heavy part separator in the Multi Function Separator SP-MF protects the cleaning line against damage. Heavy parts or burning tufts detected by a spark sensor are separated into containers and extinguished, if required.

The third machine combination already is a classic in the Truetzschler product range. The combination of an Integrated Mixer MX-I with a Cleaner Cleanomat. The cleaner Cleanomat CL-C 4 with its gentle, fibre-saving 4-roll technology is designed for an output of 800 kg/h. This single cleaner guarantees a cleaning efficiency which is optimal for nearly all cottons used world-wide.

The end of the compact blowroom line again is a multi-function machine. It is the Foreign Part Separator SP-F. When a fine dedusting has taken place in the upper part of the machine, the cotton is scanned by two colour cameras. The separation of detected foreign parts is effected in a selective way by compressed air nozzles. This avoids unnecessary fibre losses.
