Textile, Leather and Engineering Trade Fair

The International Trade and Industry Fair - ITIF Asia 2004 is a blend of three International exhibitions; namely Engineering Asia, Textile Asia, and Leather Asia while a collection of discrete pavilions jointly forms Trade Asia, in conjunction with a two-day conference that incorporated several focused sessions on Engineering, Textile and related sectors.

International Trade and Industry Fair - ITIF Asia 2004, an assortment of exhibitions and conferences, organized by the Federal Ministry of Investment and Privatization in collaboration with Board of Investment, Government of Pakistan and E-Commerce Gateway Pte. Ltd. Singapore with an endorsement from the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).
Cotton is the cash crop of Pakistan. The quality of cotton and cotton related products of Pakistan are unmatched in the international markets. The ever-growing textile industry of the country has shown consistent expansion and stability over the last many years.

The exports of textile and textile products of Pakistan have shown a significant increase in the recent years. The government has offered various incentives for the industry's up gradation and modernization.

Pakistan is at the center of a rapidly developing textile & garments manufacturing region. Apart from fulfilling its local requirements, Pakistan has emerged as the textile hub of the region. There exists a strong political will to modernize the textile sector and there is an increasing demand for compliance with ISO and other international quality certifications and standards.

For Mr. Imran Baloch, Brand Manager, Chemi Viscofibre Ltd, “The domestic market is of importance and he is confident that ChemiViscoFibre is expected to generate significant leads. By way of confirmation, Mr. Zahid Yusuf, Marketing Manager, Chemi Dyestuffs Industries (Pvt) Ltd, said, "The processing sector is our main thrust and we are hoping that the fair will be well attended. So far the visitor quality was very good. We had some trade buyers from the high-quality side and are looking forward to some good post-fair business".

Dr. Khursheed Nizam, President, E-commerce Gateway Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. said, “This is first edition of ITIF and, although I do not want to be euphoric, I must say we are overwhelmed because the quality of our exhibitors and visitors has been first class. Thus, we have already decided on the dates of next ITIF for the year 2005 and onwards”.

Mr. Sohail Aziz, Executive Director, EC Gateway said, "For us, the ITIF is the opening event of the year 2004 and there is a feeling of optimism in the sector and this makes doing business a pleasure."
