Willy Grob presented their latest batching unit type SUPERIOR, which is a further development of Willy Grob product family ‘Basic Series’.

The newest Willy Grob batching unit type “SUPERIOR”offers optimal possibilities available to the users to achieve best cloth roll quality. Beside the latest drive technology, new functions such as Speed Limiter SLBU and Intelligent Drive System IDSBU are already integrated part of the standard execution. With this concept, Willy Grob sets new standards in terms of technology, equipment and customers’ benefit. Even in the basic version, the newest drive unit allows now speeds of up to 4.5m/min., which offers a wide usability on an almost unlimited field of applications. The extended control panel with JOY-STICK makes it easy for any user to operate the machine without even reading a manual. Supervising the tension of the cloth with a dancing roller, a high-tech touch-free sensor records immediately deviations. The system reacts without delay and guarantees uniform tension from empty to full roll. The SUPERIOR comes up with a new fresh design, supporting the progressive look of any modern weaving mill. Additionally a tuning set is available which allows to set further course in regard to the appearance.

SLBU- Speed-Limiter

The new function‚ Speed-Limiter allows with the help of a special turning knob, the individual setting of the winding speed, for the prevention of slipping of the rollers. So the problem of spinning rollers – especially at the beginning of the winding process is eliminated. A much longer life time of the rubber roll is achieved, and also the fabric damage due to spinning rollers can be avoided.

IDSBU Intelligent-Drive-System

The ‘Intelligent-Drive-System’ is another new function for efficient prevention of stopmarks in the fabric.

The installation of latest frequency converter technology allows smooth stop and start characteristics of the winder in case of a weaving machine stoppage.

On the one side the batcher reduces the set tension automatically when on hold, on the other side the drive smoothly starts, running once the weaving machine continues its operation. The set tension is reached by a continuous increase of the force and not by a sharp step, which could be transferred via cloth to the loom.

FLEXPENDULUM™ - System

This new design of the cloth deflection just before the winding position makes it possible to choose between different deflection systems  – according to the requirements of the fabrics.  Available options include:

v     fix spreader bar.

v     fix, smooth steel bar.

v     rotating roll, with ball bearing.

All three types are freely exchangeable.­

The new generation of batching units allows remote diagnostics and parameter check world-wide.

Connected over a modern CAN-BUS all relevant data can be downloaded either within the mill or over Internet by the Willy GROB engineers.

This offers various advantages, such as immediate analysis in case of malfunction, proactive problem discovery or fine tuning of parameters thanks to direct uploading of adjusted data.
