BRÜCKNER Plant Technologies develops
coating and nonwovens sector further
BRÜCKNER Plant Technologies is well known as supplier of
systems for the finishing of technical textiles. Despite the
strong international competition, the company is proud to have
gained in the last years further well known reference
customers in different fields of the coating sector. BRÜCKNER
could also clearly enlarge its range of competence in the
field of nonwovens technology. BRÜCKNER Plant Technology
pioneers new technological ways in both fields: coating and
nonwovens.
Innovative concepts for the
functionalisation of textiles
In the sector of functionalisation of
textiles BRÜCKNER Plant Technologies, Leonberg, Germany
cooperates closely with the leading producers of coating
polymeres. For example, the cooperation with HUNTSMAN Textile
Effects (Langweid am Lech/Germany) for the functionalisation of
both sides of planifom textiles in one single drying step is
ideal solution, which saves energy and other costs.
In addition, the most different textiles -
be it woven or knitted fabric, nonwovens or three-dimensional
structures - are all over the world coated on tailor-made line
concepts made by BRÜCKNER for the most different requirements.
The possibilities of application range from protective clothing
to a variety of technical appliances.
In the MEDTECH sector, incontinence
articles are being coated with polyurethane, in the MOBILTECH
sector air bags with silicone and truck tarpaulin with PVC. In
the BUILDTECH sector acrylate coatings are used to reinforce
roofing membranes made of nonwovens and in the INDUTECH sector
phenol resins are used for abrasive cloth and glass fibre
impregnations.
Innovative dryer concepts for the
reinforcement and finishing of nonwovens
High flexibility regarding the field of
application with minimum energy consumption and low set-up times
were some of the most important criteria in the development of
the new POWER-THERM DT.
The possibility to set different
temperatures and circulating air flows above and below the
material is a unique feature. This feature - which was missing
until now - limited the productivity of the line in particular
for compound materials and coatings and was for years one of the
most urgent requests of the customers.
The new POWER-THERM DT dryers are the
perfect means for the thermal and chemical reinforcement and the
finishing of nonwovens of all kinds. The first dryers of this
type are already for more than one year successfully in
operation. The customers' measurements confirm specific energy
savings of up to one third and two-digit productivity increases
compared to the up to now used systems. In addition, the
customers are very satisfied about the low susceptibility to
dirt and the very good accessibility.

In the meantime the second generation of
the POWER-THERM DT series has been made ready for the market,
enlarging the field of application by a new kind of combined air
circulation system (nozzles and through-flow). Dryers of the
first generation can be modified without problems.
In the sector of geo-nonwovens the
efficient and flexible BRÜCKNER stenters of the POWER-FRAME type
are due to their numerous advantages in the market clearly
successful against drum type and transport belt dryers.
Above all the selective influence on the
MD:CD ratio, the possibility to change the fibre structure and
the almost contact-free fabric guidance are distinctive features
of this technology and allow the development of new final
products with improved characteristics. For heat-setting and
finishing of high-tech fibres BRÜCKNER supplies even dryers up
to a treatment temperature of 400 °C.

BRUECKNER TROCKENTECHNIK GMBH & CO.KG will
be presenting its latest innovation at Hall E1, Stand A02.
OPTI-COMPACT compacting calender as
separate unit behind the single-layer stenter
The OPTI-COMPACT compacting calender is
mainly suitable for the compacting of knitted open-width fabric.
It provides for a soft compacting of high-quality fabrics and
can also be used for qualities with sensitive surface or
voluminous fabric. The results: considerably reduced residual
shrinking potential, optimum smooth fabric hand and an "ironed",
smooth fabric surface with a little shining effect.
