APTMA supports
Mukhtar for resolving textile industry issues
Chairman, All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA),
Iqbal Ibrahim has demanded the government to make Chaudhry Ahmed
Mukhtar a permanent and full-time Minister for textile industry
in the best interest of the industry. Chairman APTMA is
confident that the minister has the potential to phase out the
textile industry from the present crisis, which is the backbone
of the economy. He said that issues such as shortage of raw
material, gas and energy, increase in cost of doing business,
shortage of skilled manpower, lack of institutional
support/infrastructure facilities and market access should be
addressed without any delay by the present government. Chairman
APTMA hoped that the textile industry which is presently passing
through a very critical stage due to obvious socio-economic
reasons would be able to come out from the vicious circle under
the guidance and experience of man like Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar.
