Pakistan has
potential to raise its global apparel market share
Pakistan has a tremendous potential to
increase its market share in the international apparel market
despite the competition from her neighbours, said Matthias Theis,
Director Igedo Fashion Fairs of Germany at presentation on
Global Fashion.
He said that Pakistan needs to improve its
image and marketing techniques by using the right marketing
tools, which would help the Pakistan apparel manufacturers to
attain a much higher price than what they are getting at the
moment.
Jamil A. Naz, Director and Liaison Officer
of Igedo Company in Pakistan said Pakistani companies are
successfully exhibiting at the global fashion section for the
last few years. However due to high input costs the number of
participating companies from Pakistan has declined. Pakistan
Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporter Association (PRGMEA)
former Chairman Ijaz A Khokar pointed out that there was no
point in participating in such fairs, since prevailing power and
energy crisis in the country would prevent them from meeting the
orders placed by the international clients.
