New Brückner POWER-THERM DT concept by Brückner Plant Technologies

On the occasion of INDEX 2008, Brückner Plant Technologies will present their nonwovens spectrum. Brückner Plant Technologies, a company of the internationally active Brückner Group, is for decades well known as systems supplier for the thermal treatment and finishing of nonwovens and technical textiles. The increased commitment in further sectors of the nonwovens technology (for example high-loft) has allowed the company in the last two years to enlarge clearly its range of competence. The nonwovens branch develops and plans tailor-made lines for nonwovens consolidation and nonwovens finishing.

The aim in the development of the new POWER-THERM DT concept for the nonwovens industry was to grant the customers the highest possible flexibility combined with minimum preparation times and energy consumption. This aim has been consistently translated into action because different market segments have different demands of the scope of services of a dryer for nonwovens. The new POWER-THERM DT dryers are suitable for the thermal and chemical treatment of nonwovens of all kinds. The first dryers are in operation for about one year and the customers' measurements confirm energy savings of up to 32% and an increase of the productivity of up to 14% compared to former systems.

Benefits of the new POWER-THERM DT concept

The main benefits of Brückner's new POWER-THERM DT concept are as follows:

v     Optimum fabric quality due to finely adjustable process temperature profiles.

v     Highest energy efficiency due to innovative exhaust air management and high-tech insulation.

v     Process air can be adjusted separately above and below the fabric web in order to get different surface characteristics (SPLIT-FLOW-/ DUO-THERM-Technology).

v     Excellent access for cleaning and maintenance.

v     Special designs  as flow-through dryer for high capacity drying processes and heavy nonwovens qualities with intelligent countered-air energy saving.

v     Accurate adjustment of the desired MD:CD ratio by defined stretching or shrinking processes.

v     Soft and continuous stretching of the nonwovens through the complete duration of the thermal treatment.

Possible scope of application of the new POWER-THERM DT concept

Brückner's application and drying systems comprise the following range of products: Application units for liquid, foamy, pasty and solid chemicals; dryers and ovens with optimized process control and flexible air circulation; fabric transport systems for all types of fabric; finishing systems for cooling, smoothing, calibrating and laminating; length and cross cutters for the fabrication of finished products; accumulators, unwinding and batching stations, piling units and special machines.

Brückner's product families ECO-HEAT (several types of heat recovery units) and ECO-AIR (several line components designed for the cleaning of exhaust air) round off the portfolio.

The ECO-HEAT heat recovery units allow to achieve an energy saving of up to 35 % depending on the process in order to reduce the production costs significantly.

The ECO-AIR product spectrum comprises electrostatic precipitators, scrubber systems and spray condensers, which can be combined with each other depending on the process. Depending on the type and quantity of the pollutant and the specific limits for each country, the ECO-AIR lines are designed individually and thus oriented to the customer's needs.
